Template documentation (for the above template, sometimes hidden or invisible)
Ruby is a name for small annotations that are rendered alongside base text. This is especially useful for Japanese and other East Asian content (ruby is known as furigana in Japanese).

Usage

The usage is as the following:

{{Ruby|Base|top}}

Basetop

The first parameter is the base (the lower part) and the second is the Ruby Text (the smaller part on top)

for example:

{{Ruby|全|すべ}}て

results in:

すべ

for example (group ruby):

{{Ruby|日本語|にほんご}}

results in:

日本語にほんご

for example (mono ruby):

{{Ruby|日|に}}{{Ruby|本|ほん}}{{Ruby|語|ご}}

results in:

ほん

for example:

{{Ruby|日本語|Nihongo|rplang=ja-latn}}

results in:

日本語Nihongo

Non-Japanese text must specify the language using an IETF language tag (commonly-used ones are "en" for English, "ko" for Korean, and "zh" for Chinese) via the "lang" parameter:

{{Ruby|媽|mā|lang=zh}}
